Watch a train wreck

December 14th, 2007 · 3 Comments

You want to watch a train wreck?  Just watch our AMA.  It is going down faster than Britney Spears!

My newest hero, Ed Youngblood has written a nice editorial on his web site. www.motohistory.net  There is also some propaganda on the AMA site  www.AMAdirectlink.com  I don’t believe a bit of the AMA drivel…..

The AMA is on such a downward spiral the Hall of Fame is actually in trouble.  According to Ed, the whole museum could be in danger of being closed and it’s valuable contents auctioned off, it is only one board meeting away from happening.

So check out what Ed has to say, he’s a good guy.  You will want to subscribe to his web site, he updates it every few days and I can always find something interesting.  Also drop Ed  a note about your thoughts on the whole mess,  I would sure hate to see the Hall of Fame dismantled and Ed is one of the few people who can help.

The only reason I joined the AMA 30+ years ago was for racing. Sounds as if the new CEO cannot take constructive critisism. As for me what do I need the AMA for other than they provide insurance support at race’s. The “I’ll show you approach” is a sign of weakness in leadership. I did not understand what the goals where other than to turn a seet profit, like Club Sierra. Cheers to Ed for keeping us up to date. You fetch some tar I’ll fetch the feathers.

It’s too bad you have to join in order to race or do a lot of the dual sports. I’d much rather give that money to a group that actually does something other than “protecting the right to ride with open pipes and no helmets”. There is a group called “the Appalacian Championship Enduro Series” that is doing the enduro races this year in Ohio instead of District 11. The AMA just doesn’t seem to care about enduros much anymore, so A.C.E.S. will take ‘em and do ‘em right. Their website is http://www.acesraces.org. They’re in the midst of getting the website set up, so give ‘em little while.

Just the mention of Ed Youngblood conjures up the lasting memories of the Roger Edmondson Lawsuit and the millions of dollars the membership and motorcycling community lost as a result of his heavy handiness and the unwillingness to accept the truth and avoid engaging in a policy of lies and attempted deception. But then, three million dollars in 1998 was of no real cost to the Association!

Mr. Youngblood continues to berate and attack the Association then, when his writings fall on deaf ears attempts to hold the Association hostage by threatening to resign, if his friends are not returned to their position by the new President and CEO. No offense but, that type of thinking and logic is exactly what got the Association into the situation with Edmondson, Jam Sports, and the rest. Change is inevitable and the Association is attempting to change and redirect itself towards the riders and the membership. How can that be bad?
