ORBA Summit Meeting

August 31st, 2007 · No Comments

Off Road Business Association ORBA had their first annual Summit Meeting last week, at the Summit of Custer Peak of course. Treacherous, technical trail separated the men from the boys and only the strongest survived the rocky climb, the exposed side hill and death defying drops to attend. There was no business conducted other than showing the ORBA supporters there are still plenty of trails out there to fight for. ORBA king pin, Bill Dart wanted to share some of the local riding trails with loyal ORBA supporters and well, we had a blast exploring and sharing these trails. I won’t name names, but if you were not on the list, you need to figure out how to get there. Plans are already being made for next years Summit Meeting and there is only one way in, support ORBA, search it out.

On a sad note ISDE rider Rich Libengood was seriously injured while riding his bicycle last week, details are sketchy but he has broken several vertebrae in his neck and back. He is in the hospital and is doing fine after surgery. He is in good condition, in fact he had to ride his bike down a couple of miles of trail before going to the hospital. Morgan Pattison was with Rich and I’ll get more details from him Monday. Rich had qualified to go to Chile this November but this injury has changed those plans. I’ll let you know more as soon as I can find it out.

Also concerning the ISDE in Chile, Annel Allen from Boise is going, she is having a fund raiser this coming Friday night and from the description it looks like a good time, I want to go my self but don’t know if I can afford the cover charge! Damn the not drinking, if they had promised a cheese cake bar I’d be there for sure!

Sorry, you are going to have to cut and paste these links, I don’t know how to make the hot, but you will want to check these sites out for more information about Annel and the promotion work she is doing, if you are smart, you will study what she is doing and use her ideas in your next fund raising endeavor.

I got to ride with MX hero Chuck Sun all week, he said hello to all ya’all and leaves this week to fly to England to ride in a Vet Grand Prix motocross, CAT Honda has offered him a bike to ride and he bought an airline ticket so he hits the road or sky Tuesday morning, of course we wish he would send in reports, but it never seems to work out, so I’ll pass on more information on that as he doles out the stories.

Well, I can’t remember a thing I have forgotten, so I’ll leave you here and post more news when I can. Oh I know! There is some big news, big big news! Trail Rider Magazine has signed on as a sponsor of the fabulous Endurocross! Bigger than that, is I’m going to all three event and have signed up to ride at all three, so if you need a good laugh and want to watch some great racing, make your plans to attend, it is the best racing you have ever seen, you don’t want to miss it, I promise. I’ll be riding Amateur day on Friday, so you will want to see that too, well I gotta go train, where is that cheese cake bar?
