Hey Everybody:
It was six short years ago I signed the log book at the top of Custer Lookout on this day. It wasn’t until the next day did we learn about the World Trade Center and how our world changed in one day, pretty sad.
I was just up at Custer last week, and traffic has increased a bunch up in that area. We must disperse and ride different trails, if we all ride the same trails over and over they are going to get beat while the others get grown over. Think about this on your next ride, try a new place, it’s the unknown and exploring that keeps it new and fresh, not just hammering the same loops over and over.
I had put a set of Tire Balls in my tires earlier this summer and just love them! I got fantastic traction and that let me run the tires long after they were worn out. Over time all the balls had lost a little air and the tire was too mushy and performance went down hill, but until then they worked fantastic. Check out their ad in Trail Rider and tell them I sent you. I really like mine.
So I got home and stripped the bike down, time to get ready for Endurocross. New tires and check every thing over, looks pretty good but you have to remember my complete lack of mechanical skills. It will take two weeks to get everything ready. Trail Rider is sponsoring the Endurocross this year and have been running full page ads promoting the races. If there is any way you can attend, do it. The Endurocross is the best spectating event going plus they have amateur day on Friday so every body can ride. It’s fun and they treat you like family, so if you can make it you won’t regret it. Stop by our booth (tail gate) and say “Hey!” Brother Josh has signed up for the Vegas round, he’s going to ride my bike, so that should be entertaining.
Len is going to update the web site here soon and you will be able to make comments much easier and hopefully we can eliminate the spam that was clogging up the old blog, so jump in and make some comments, it should be easy and fun. I want to get some NETRA vs NMA trash talk going on, plus some SETRA. From the looks of the magazine lately, the NMA is supplying better and more informative articles, that should get NETRA going!
I have not heard any more from Chuck Sun, he was going to Holland, and Holland is where Amsterdam is. Need I say more? We may never see Chuck again. He was supposed to go to the MXdN this weekend, but I’m afraid if he can choose between Amsterdam and Maryland, well, any one want to place a bet?
Sirius radio just launched their new Grateful Dead channel, GD 24-7, it’s good too, loads of music and history an information, try it, channel 32.
Well, that’s all I have for now, I just got my new Blue Ribbon magazine in the mail and want to check out my article and art work. Join the Blue Ribbon and help a good cause and get another Charlie article every month.
See ya,
Charlie
