How about that Six Day’s? Kurt Caselli, second over all and first in class, a new American record. How about our girls team winning the trophy? How about our Trophy Team, 9th place, heck I can’t even name eight other countrys. 6th place for the Junior team. I’m not getting into that argument here,I just want to congratulate every one for a good ride and doing the best they could.

I also want to apologize for not having more news about the big event here, we were counting on Flannel Guy to keep us posted on Annell Allens progress, but no word from them. I can’t find her name any where so I don’t know if she finished or not.

We do have a guy who is going to cover the event for the magazine, but in typical Trial Rider fashion, he didn’t send in daily reports either. Do you ever get that feeling you are working your ass offand every one else is drinking beer and watching?

The Trail Rider gang spent the weekend in Vegas at the Fabulous Endurocross. What a show, I can not tell you in words how exciting the racing was. Knight and Taddy the new Polish kid went at it like nothing I have ever seen. dscn2257.JPG

Taddy pressured Knight till he finally pulled up and let him past. What an incredible decision, Knight was up for the $50,000 prize. Taddy had nothing to loose. Knight had the championship to think about, Taddy had nothing to loose. So in my mind Knight made the smartest move, win the war, loose the battle, it was a difficult decision.

Then in an unKnightman like moment, Knight ghosted his bike over the finish line jump. This is the first time I have any emotion other than cool and collected out of Knight. $50,000 is a lot of money and we have all had moments of bad behavior, so I’m chalking it up to good old emotion, Knight is still a hero in my book. He made a good speech on the podium, “What do you do?” Humble, sincere, and gracious. What do we expect out of our champions? I don’t want political correctness in our sport, I want frustration and emotion. If Knight pitches his bike away, he is human, he is like me, I feel better about my self, for I am human, I have emotion and I would have thrown a much MUCH bigger fit at loosing $50,000. David, you are still a hero in my book.
